Denton Drapes specialise in the creation of high quality soft furnishings, handsewn by our skilled team of curtain makers using traditional craft techniques in our fully equipped Bedfordshire workrooms. We offer a complete service from free quotations and advice right through to installation and hanging.

No obligation consultations with our soft furnishing experts can take place in the comfort of your own home or by appointment in our showroom near Milton Keynes where you can select from a wide range of contemporary and traditional fabrics. We also supply tracks, poles and sundries.

Our principal, Penny Bruce, is passionate about the creation of beautiful soft furnishings building on a lifetime’s career in fabrics and fashion. Originally trained as a fashion designer, Penny worked as a pattern cutter and grader for labels like Aquascutum and Alexon before making the move to soft furnishings.

Her curtain making skills were developed through training at The National Design Academy, her involvement with the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers and the US based Home Furnishings Academy.

As a fully accredited Member of the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers and subject to their rigorous assessment process, Denton Drapes work is always of the highest quality. Penny has developed a robust quality control process and coaches each member of the team personally.

Since 1997 Penny has built Denton Drapes from a home based business to a fully staffed and equipped professional curtain workroom providing bespoke soft furnishings to discerning home owners and to the interior design elite.

Clients and designers are welcome to visit the workrooms at any time to view the work in progress, browse through our extensive range of fabrics and curtain supplies, and to discuss their requirements directly with Penny and her team.
